Build depends refer to source package names, not binary package names.
In many cases, PKG_BUILD_DEPENDS simply duplicated runtime dependencies of
a source package's binary packages; as the corresponding source packages
are implicitly added as bulid dependencies, PKG_BUILD_DEPENDS can simply be
dropped in these cases. In the other cases, *_BUILD_DEPENDS is fixed to
refer to the correct source package name.
Dependency of mysql-server is adjusted from libncursesw to libncurses
(as libncursesw is a virtual package provided by libncurses), so the build
dependency on ncurses is emitted unconditionally.

The Modules/getbuildinfo.c allows the use of DATE and TIME
macros to be defined via CFLAGS.
These vars, control the build date & time when the
interpreter is opened, and can be read via the
`platform._sys_version()` function.
So, a conversion from SOURCE_DATE_EPOCH to DATE & TIME
is required at build-time.
This is especially needed for `platform._sys_version()`
to work.
The installation of pip seems to rely on this.
The logic has been adapted from:

The check to enable/disable this new feature of PHP 7.2 works
incorrectly when cross-compiling because it detects the host headers
only and there is no way to pass in a dedicated directory.
The wish to change this was reported upstream at:
https://bugs.php.net/bug.php?id=75722
For the meantime, use a self-cooked patch.

This should fix the zlibmodule build on the host side.
Usually, if zlib is not found, Python/Python3 builds fine
without it, but there are some cases where the Python/Python3
interpreter on the host-side requires zlib to run.
At the moment, zlib does not have a host-build.

that if bluez-libs is selected as an installable package,
then the error below will show up:

This looks like a limitation in the design of package deps,
and maybe a misuse of conditional deps (i.e. PACKAGE_bluez-libs:bluez-libs).
So, to fix this, an idea we're adding an extra symbol
that enfoces installation of bluez-libs if selected.
We also need to add a way to disable bluetooth build
if PYTHON(3)_BLUETOOTH_SUPPORT is de-selected.
Otherwise, bluetooth is installed and the socket
module is broken due to linker errors.

This should improve build time if you only want to
build Python3 (and not Python).
Because python-pip-conf was part of the python package,
the whole python package (host + target) would get built if Python3
would need to get built.

When libpam is selected, then mod_imap pulls in a dep to libpam,
and there seems no way to disable it via configure arguments.
So add this dep here conditionally.

This should hopefully fix the Python3 build on buildbot.
For a while I assumed it may be a build-bot issue, but
then looking through the packages repo [and finding
the bluez package] it looks like, if you try
to build all packages, Python3 detects the bluetooth
headers installed by bluez.
It looks like Python's bluetooth support was somewhat
broken ; it was not detecting the <bluetooth/bluetooth.h>
header, so a backport from Python3 to Python fixed that.

Two important configuration files, /etc/php7-fpm.conf and
/etc/php7-fpm.d/www.conf are silently overwritten on each php7-fpm
upgrade or lost on a sysupgrade.
This commit adds the conffiles section for php7-fpm and revises
the conffiles section for php7.

modifier could cause a heap buffer overflow and crash perl. This has

For certain types of syntax error in a regular expression pattern, the
error message could either contain the contents of a random, possibly
large, chunk of memory, or could crash perl. This has now been fixed.

A possible stack buffer overflow in the %ENV code on Windows has been
fixed by removing the buffer completely since it was superfluous anyway.

The FPM SAPI works fine without the CGI SAPI installed. It seems that
this is a copy & paste error introduced a long time ago, when FPM support
was added - and nobody noticed.
So drop the dependency now to allow smaller footprints on installations
which only use FPM.

The host pip install should have the host's CFLAGS, LDFLAGS, etc
available.
And not the target's flags.
Otherwise, weird things can happen when installing
packages (host-side) that need to build C code.

This build script supports both Python 2.x (python-evdev) and 3.x (python3-evdev)
From the README:
This package provides bindings to the generic input event interface in Linux.
The evdev interface serves the purpose of passing events generated in the kernel
directly to userspace through character devices that are typically located in /dev/input/.
This package also comes with bindings to uinput, the userspace input subsystem.
Uinput allows userspace programs to create and handle input devices that can inject
events directly into the input subsystem.

decided to replace `pyasn1` with `asn1crypto`.
Unfortunately `pyasn1` is needed for another package,
so it can't be dropped just yet.

Depending on execution order the `python-package-install.sh`

auto-endian auf UTF-16 doesn't work with all drivers, some fail to
interpret the byte-order-marking. Hence explicitely use UTF16BE on
big-endian systems and UTF16LE otherwise.

Similar to LEDE/OpenWrt's Build/Compile/Default rule,
and other similarities like this.
This should allow Python packages to define
PyBuild/Compile rules to do specific stuff per
package.
The advantage of using these (over just overriding
Build/Compile) is the VARIANT mechanism that is
in place to support packaging both for Python & Python3.
So, PyBuild/Compile will get picked up for the Python
variant build, and Py3Build/Compile will get picked
up for the Python3 variant build.

If you build python/python3 and later decide to build
python(3)-setuptools and/or python(3)-pip, the build won't
re-run without adding `CONFIG_PACKAGE_python(3)-setuptools`
and `CONFIG_PACKAGE_python(3)-pip`.

OVS has PKG_BUILD_DEPENDS:=python-six/host as dep.
But that doesn't seem to work, since the PKG_NAME:=six
So, this change renames the PKG_NAME to python-six, to
make it clear it's Python package.

Add native support for SNMP manager functions, so scripts don't
have to call system("snmpget -v2c ...") etc. Cuts down on fork/exec
pairs and simplifies issues with parsing intermediate output.

If there is only Python bytecodes, then
the __init__.py script will be concatenated, and
the __init__.pyc as well.
This is becase this bit `path = os.path.join(path, '__init__'+extension)`
is iterated twice.
This is a bug in Python3, also because we ship bytecodes
instead of source code [ with Python & Python3 ].
Python is not affected.

The extensions tries to register some string constants after quering
version strings from underlaying libcurl. However, depending on libcurl's
configuration these strings could also be NULL, which was not handled
properly.

This is in essence fixes pip3.
That means pip3 will ship without Python byte-codes
for a while, until I'll find a better way to fix it.
I couldn't think of a not-very hack-ish way of doing it.
The only draw-back of this, will be that pip3 will run
a bit slower ; but that should be ok for a while.

python3-pip & python3-setuptools have slightly
different installation mechanisms.
We need to remove the __pycache__ folders.
Seems they're generated.
This also reduces the size of the python3-pip &
python3-setuptools packages.

I admit this may be be a bit aggressive, but the lang
folder is getting cluttered/filled up with Python, PHP, Perl,
Ruby, etc. packages.
Makes sense to try to group them into per-lang folders.

Avoid using 'hg' (Mercurial) to download sources.
'hg' is not an official prerequisite and it is not installed
in all buildslaves in Openwrt and LEDE buildbots, which
leads to frequent build failures.
Download the .tar.gz source archive instead.

Filter support brings several useful features which many PHP applications
rely on. To make it easier for users who don't want to build own packages
enable this by default. This slightly increases the binary SAPI packages,
but since PHP is a huge monster anyway, I doubt this hurts anybody.

The gettext extension is only useful when linked against libintl-full
package, however, the detection did not work sucessfully. This patch

Well, they're not yet compiled, but in the next commit
they should be.
People have been complaining [citation needed] to me
via email or via Github that Python's performance is crap
because it packages sources directly and they're not compiled.
And Python has to compile the sources on each run, and
on-the-fly.
Allowing compilation caching is also a no-no, because
I'll get complaints that the flash storage fills up
whenever a Python app runs.
So, to give the user a choice, the new de-facto packaging
for Python packages will be:
* ship compiled + [ preferably ] optimized files
* package sources separately
The problem is that this doubles the number of packages
in LEDE/OpenWrt, but build-times should not suffer a big
hit, since the compilation is done once, and the
install phase should not be too intensive.
Oh, and people don't need ship source packages if
they don't want to.
To do that, a packager needs to just call
`$(eval $(call BuildPackage,python-<package>-src))`
The `python-` prefix is important.

For consistency, use full name instead of $(PKG_NAME) in define and eval
lines for all packages.
I've seen reviews that asked to do this before, and I am asking the same
during reviews now. To avoid this in the future, fix this treewide so
when people use existing packages as example, we will not have to
request this change anymore.
This makes all packages consistent with both LEDE and OpenWrt base

So, I chose to workaround it in the Makefile.
A proper fix is a bit more work that I would like to do now,
and I have no suggestion/idea for a good fix right now.
The problem is with the `CMD` part that's used in the install rule,
together with the fact that PREFIX is the same as the source location.

The gist of it, is that it seems that this will filter
and copy to `PREFIX` all python sources and folders that
are not names `dist`, `__pycache__`, or `*.egg-info`.
And it searches all folders at (exactly) depth 1.
The solution I chose is to put a `dist` folder under
`_install_tmp`, which is kind of a trick to go
to depth 2 and avoid both conditions in the `find` call.
This avoids errors:

Certain strings are misinterpreted as comments by perlmod.mk and removed
when they shouldn't be (in particular, perl-cgi). Enable this whenever
you have sufficient flash space.
Globally, CONFIG_PERL_NOCOMMENT=y (default) causes comments to be stripped
as before. However, a package (like perl-cgi) can override this with
PKG_LEAVE_COMMENTS=1.

The macro perlmod/Install does comment stripping which gets confused by
the line:
in several files in this module, incorrectly deleting it as a comment.
It's not: it's the closure of a "= q/" literal.
See PR #3740 as this is a prerequisite.

Python comes with it's own builtin libffi lib, which
seems easier to use for the host build, than trying
to use the one from the package feeds.

As both LEDE and OpenWrt have STAGING_DIR_HOSTPKG now, we can start to rely
on it. See 73b7f55424 for more information on
STAGING_DIR_HOSTPKG.
STAGING_DIR_HOSTPKG won't actually be changed before the first LEDE release
(it is equivalent to $(STAGING_DIR)/host), so this simple search/replace
cleanup is safe to apply. Doing this cleanup now will be useful for the
Gluon project (an OpenWrt/LEDE based firmware framework) for experimenting
with modifying STAGING_DIR_HOSTPKG before doing this in the LEDE upstream.
Also fixes a typo in the dbus Makefile ("STAGIND_DIR").

PYTHON_FOR_BUILD is used to build the target python.
Nomally Python scripts detect fine the Python host interpreter
to use for building the Python target interpreter.
But, let's not leave it up to chance anymore.

And apparently `--with-system-ffi` does not take any arguments.
But it's only in Python 3.6 that a check was added for that.
After checking, Python 2.7 does not take any args either
for `--with-system-ffi` ; so, remove it [for the case when this
change may get backported].

Python 3.6 comes with some new cross-compilation logic that
generates filenames/paths with arch, abiflags and mach
included (in filename & path).
Problem is that the generated paths/filenames are not
consistent across archs (noticed on x86_64 & ar71xx),
so patch `016-adjust-config-paths.patch` was added
to mitigate this (by removing extra stuff in paths).

LUAROCKS_UNAME_S/LUAROCKS_UNAME_M were being set automatically to host’s architecture and system/kernel name (e.g.. x86 and Darwin for the macOS)
The variables can now be supplied to configure via the supplied patch.
They are currently _S being hardcoded to “Linux” and _M set to the target architecture in the MakeFile.

Move the python-host.mk and python-package.mk includes after the definition of
common package variables. This is required to ensure that PKG_UNPACK is not set
to to the dummy "true" command which happens if PKG_SOURCE is not yet set.

This was fixed a few versions back.
But then python-setuptools changed.
The problem is that python scripts installed via setuptools
& pip would have `#!/build_dir_path/staging_dir/target-x86_64_musl-1.1.15/host/bin/python`
as the path in the script, rather than the path on the target (`/usr/bin/python`).
This fixes that.

This release contains a bug fix about Refinements and Module#prepend.
The mixture use of Module#refine and Module#prepend to the same Class
could cause unexpected NoMethodError. This is a regression on Ruby 2.3.2
released last week. See [Bug #12920] for details.

So that it can be included twice.
python-package.mk include python-host.mk, but at some point
in time python-host.mk is not exported to staging_dir yet.
So, to have in python's Makefile, we need to include it
in the Makefile, and to prevent double inclusion (if
python-host.mk is exported from a previous build), the
include guard is added.
Also, moved the includes after some vars were set.

refer to the $(STAGING_DIR)/host directory but using the HOST_BUILD_PREFIX
variable requires the use of include/host-build.mk which in turn includes
python3-package.mk, leading to target redefinition errors.
In order to provide a global, uniform way to refer to the host staging
directory, LEDE introduced a new variable STAGING_DIR_HOSTPKG which points
to $(STAGING_DIR)/host for now with the purpose of eventually being able to
relocate that directory in the future.
This commit changes python3-package.mk to ...
- stop including include/host-build.mk (revert of #3423)
- replace usages of $(HOST_BUILD_PREFIX) with $(STAGING_DIR_HOSTPKG)
- warn and fallback to $(STAGING_DIR)/host if STAGING_DIR_HOSTPKG is
unavailable
The fallback code will ensure that the python host build infrastructure
continues to work properly on older OpenWrt and LEDE versions until the
STAGING_DIR_HOSTPKG is fully settled in and can be removed some time
in the future.

Add a Lua wrapper library for openssl.
Add patches for:
1. Revise the makefile, so the package can be built under openwrt
2. Remove "lua_isinteger" implementation from the package's "compat"
code in order to avoid linkage issues - An implementation already
exists in the target's Lua package.
3. Support OPENSSL_NO_SSL3_METHOD & OPENSSL_NO_COMP

When php is installed on the host system, then the configure tries
to obtain from this binary whether some extensions are available.
This prevents the cross build when the desired extensions are not
present - which is the usual case.
So add a patch to prevent configure from doing this - we give
this information via environment variable during build already.

Some PECL modules (possibly also php modules) depend on
special load order, otherwise loading the module will fail
due to unresolvable symbols.
This changeset introduces a very simple compile-time defined
order by specifying a prefix for the ini file with the load
directive. If not given, it uses a default value.
It also updates all current pecl module packages to take
this new approach.

This is caused by a toolchain bug and has been reported to GCC a
while a ago without receiving any responses yet [1]. Fix it at the
moment by not compiling with mips16 enabled.
Should fix#1750 and #1904.

LuaSQLite3 is a thin wrapper around the public domain SQLite3 database
engine.
This commit adds another sqlite3 module for Lua. This is very popular
and in my opinion, suites even better for some projects requiring
sqlite3 in Lua than already luasql, even though luasql is more
versatile since it supports other databases as well. It wouldn't hurt
to include this in the repository. This can also be installed with
luarocks, but I prefer a openwrt package.

This builds one main package, instead of multiple packages like the old
packages feed, to match upstream. (Debian and Fedora are moving to a
single-package model as well.) The obvious downside is a larger install

$(CP) was defined as `cp -fpR' since the very begining of OpenWrt build
system (2006-06-22). The -R option should be enough and base packages
use only $(CP) for the same purposes just fine and BSD manual of cp also
discourages the use of `-r' option. So let's just tidy up the usage now.

The sets host Python's prefix and exec-prefix to the same value
($(STAGING_DIR)/host for packages, as currently defined in
include/host-build.mk), which avoids the case where pyconfig.h is
not in the same location as Python's other header files (see
https://bugs.python.org/issue896330).
This also removes some cross compilation workarounds
(_python_sysroot/prefix/exec_prefix, disabling byte-compilation,
__PYVENV_LAUNCHER__) that are not necessary when compiling packages
for host.

python-cffi's host section has trouble compiling at buildbot.
Yesterday it stopped all buildbot runs that reached the package.
Mark the package temporarily as BROKEN to enable buildbot to complete the build.

Stephane Chazelas discovered a bug in the environment handling in Perl.
Perl provides a Perl-space hash variable, %ENV, in which environment
variables can be looked up. If a variable appears twice in envp, only
the last value would appear in %ENV, but getenv would return the first.
Perl's taint security mechanism would be applied to the value in %ENV,
but not to the other rest of the environment. This could result in an
ambiguous environment causing environment variables to be propagated to
subprocesses, despite the protections supposedly offered by taint
checking.
With this update Perl changes the behavior to match the following:
a) %ENV is populated with the first environment variable, as getenv
would return.
b) Duplicate environment entries are removed.

ruby subpackages now are generated by a macro. This reduces the
Makefile size by half and the chance of errors.
No change in packages contents, install-size or dependencies, except
for some removed doc files.

Beginning in PathTools 3.47 and/or perl 5.20.0, the File::Spec::canonpath()
routine returned untained strings even if passed tainted input. This defect
undermines the guarantee of taint propagation, which is sometimes used to
ensure that unvalidated user input does not reach sensitive code.
This defect was found and reported by David Golden of MongoDB, and a patch
was provided by Tony Cook.

This release includes a security fix for Fiddle extension.

There are also some bugfixes.
In package, now LD_FLAGS is copied to DLD_FLAGS (used by ruby for libraries).
The missing values from LD_FLAGS cause build error when gcc does not implicitly
include staging/usr/lib.

For x86 and x86_64, nodejs has some special CPU
code that needs to be selected by specifying
the correct CPU name (correct for nodejs).
On OpenWRT x86 is i386 ; node wants ia32 for this.
And x86_64 is x64 on nodejs.
So, we just need to do the proper substitutions.
Note: the ARCH env-var is obtained from CONFIG_ARCH, after
some subtitutions are applied.
So, it shouldn't affect other target archs.

gmpy2 is a C-coded Python extension module that supports multiple-precision
arithmetic. gmpy2 is the successor to the original gmpy module. The gmpy module
only supported the GMP multiple-precision library. gmpy2 adds support for the
MPFR (correctly rounded real floating-point arithmetic) and MPC (correctly
rounded complex floating-point arithmetic) libraries. gmpy2 also updates the
API and naming conventions to be more consistent and support the additional
functionality.

Some python packages (e.g. cffi) compile one or more shared libraries
as part of their setup process. When these packages are setup
dependencies of other packages (e.g. cryptography), these packages (and
their shared libraries) will need to be loaded on the host system.
This adds a makefile, similar to python-package.mk, to simplify
installing python packages on the host.

Since 94f87dc1, host build of Python depends on expat installed in host
staging directory. However, pyexpat extension fails to build if expat
was not built and installed to staging dir before - adding host build
dependency should fix this.

Build depends must refer to the source package name, not the binary one,
therefore we need to use `bzip2` in order to enforce a build of libbz2.so.
Also make the host python build depend on the bzip2 host build in order to
ensure that host python is built with bzip2 support. We don't need a build
dependency for the target python as this already depends on +libbz2 through
python-light. That package dependency in turn implies a build dependency.

perlbase-essential and perlbase-config depend on functionality from
each other. Previously, this was solved by just making perlbase-config depend
on perlbase-essential.
However, since a simple "use lib" is enough to trigger pulling in Config, this
approach doesn't seem to make much sense. So let's just make perlbase-essential
depend on perlbase-config instead.
This pulls in perlbase-config as a dependency to pretty much every Perl package,
so in the future we might want to just merge Config into perlbase-essential.

Despite being just a packaging update, this update packs quite a few changes.
To start things off, we're finally passing perl's testsuite on at least
x86/musl. There are a lot of skipped tests left, as well as some oddities.
Nothing too heavy though. Making this happen was an ongoing effort since the
perl-5.20.1 release.
We still can't run module testsuites and I don't expect all target/libc
combinations to pass yet. So we'll leave test suite support marked as
experimental.
We've also switched from the old collection of target-specific configuration
files to a new, more flexible and easier-to-maintain system based on
perlconfig.pl. It'll generate a suitable configuration file using information
found in it's *.config files as well as command-line parameters passed.

While setlocale() is present, musl currently doesn't provide a suitable implementation.
It'll silently accept every locale, even if not present at all, defaulting them
to C.UTF-8. This will confuse applications as well as our testsuite(see lib/locale.t).
Even if a locale does exist, it's effects will not apply to an extent that will
satisfy many applications.
Avoid further mischief here and just disable setlocale() for now.

This replaces the previously used collection of configuration files for every single
architecture in conjunction with hacky overrides, which became an increasing burden to maintain.
Fixes a number of outstanding bugs and oddities, with the most important one being the
previously wrong signal order(as shown by ext/POSIX/t/sigaction.t).

It's better to install setuptools-enabled Python packages with a special
flag that makes a flatter structure of the egg and does not create
site.py file. Already done for python-pip recently. Also, version was
bumped to 18.1.

PIP's installation procedure was too complicated, requiring obscure
postinstall and prerm scripts to move files created by setup procedure.
But since setuptools is required anyway, it's better to use a special
flag created for the purpose of package creation. Resulting directory
structure is flatter and unnecessary files that had to be moved by
prerm/postinstall scripts are not created anymore.

Patch removing multiarch paths from build should be applied only when
Python is built for target, but not for host. When the paths are removed
during host build, host python throws some ugly errors when importing
some hashlib modules. Also it reports that modules crypt and nis failed
to build (tested on Ubuntu 14.04 host).

Python 3 prefers usage of wcsftime() over strftime() if it's available,
however this function returns just an empty string in some older
uClibc versions. Proposed solution disables detection of wcsftime() in
./configure that results in HAVE_WCSFTIME being undefined, effectively
disabling branches of code that use possibly broken wcsftime().

This is the least invasive approach I could come up to fix the build
failure asap. Another possibility is maintaining yet another set of

Builtbots currently fail to compile this package with (example message):

With libevent2, the main include file event.h is deprecated, but includes
enough stuff and other compat includes that it _should work_. I could not figure
out why it fails (all locally builds work out-of-the-box), so this is a trial to
circumvent this compat header file and include the libevent2 headers directly.
While at, add a missing dependency to the sockets extension.

While host-perl only exists to run build scripts(and thus, should have
no influence on built packages at all), most packages depend heavily on the
feature set of the perl installation that ran their configuration scripts.
This change makes them see that threading support is enabled(if it actually
is selected).
We can't use configuration symbol overrides for this one, as they are
visible to host-perl as well. Using overrides would make it act as if it
had threading support enabled without actually having it.

This fixes CVE-2006-7243, a multipart/form-data remote dos vulnerability,
a heap buffer overflow in unpack and a integer overflow in ftp_genlist,
which also results in a heap overflow.

libyaml is an optional dep for ruby psych. When missing, it uses
a bundled version of yaml. However, when libyaml is present in
openwrt build, ruby-psych packaging failed with deps not declared.
Now libyaml is configured as a hard dep for ruby-psych.
Also, the tk module was disabled in order to avoid a possible similar
problem if tk+x11 is provided in openwrt build. It was currently not
build because of missing deps.
Other minor changes:
- win32* modules where disabled (avoid err msg, no compile changes)
- Some files where removed in 2.2.x (like gserver.rb). They were already
not packaged but generates a build warning message. Now removed from install.

python-package.mk now defines (extends) CONFIGURE_ARGS that are
adjusting PREFIX and EXEC_PREFIX in distutils.sysconfig during
compilation. These variables are sometimes used by autotools to detect
path to Python header files. Adding these variables to python-package.mk
fixes compilation of legacy autotools-configured packages that already
include python-package.mk and do not overwrite CONFIGURE_ARGS.

Some notes about the 'encodings' module, which is about 1.7 MB.
Unfortunately that one cannot be moved into the 'python3-codecs'
package, because Python tries to load up all available encodings
at startup.
Some efforts to add a dummy folder/python file have failed so far,
since there's a C code (Python/codecs.c) that tries to evaluate that
all encodings (in the encodings folder/module) are valid.
Basically the encodings module is a repository of encodings,
and it seemst there are quite a few of them.
Maybe a request to upstream Python would work for this, to
make encodings a bit more decoupled from the interpreter.

Rule of thumb is: any Python file that is greater than 100kb
(or adds a dependency with which it adds more than 100 kb)
should be a pretty useful/commonly used lib to stay in `python-light`.
An example, is the Python IO lib, which summarized (Python source +
binary module) is over 200kb.
Also moved some files that should have been put into previously
existing packages before, and re-organized the packages a bit.

Seems removing the PyPackage rule and/or adding dummy install rule
causes some issues inside the build-system, where the libpython2.7.so.1.0
is not seen by packages that depend on python.
Even though that libpython2.7.so.1.0 file is installed properly by `python-base`.

Calling `PyPackage` will install some default install rules for
python packages that are not required for the `python` package specifically
are not required.
That will lead to some conflicts with `python-light` because the
`/usr/lib/python2.7/site-packages` folder (+contents) will be
available in both packages.

When cross-compiling, we do not need to add runtime lib dirs.
Also, the cross compilers that are used on OpenWRT do not support
the '-R' option, which causes build failures.
These build failures existed before, but were not noticed,
because it fails only on some setups.
This is because Python's `setup.py` does a lot of voo-doo
automagic that needs handling for some cross-compilation cases.

Packetize some Python modules to reduce size of the overall Python package.
Basically, a new package is introduced, call `python-light`,
and everything that's extra (or big) is put in other packages.
The `python` package becomes a metapackage that installs `python-light`
along with the rest of the packages.

When distutils are copying scripts, path to Python interpreter is adjusted.
This does not work well in OpenWrt buildroot, because the path is adjusted
to absolute path to host Python then. This patch simply disables the
adjusting of the path.

In case threading is enabled, perl is compiled with -D_REENTRANT
and -D_GNU_SOURCE, which, apart from other things, enables usage
of off64_t. As we override module CFLAGS manually, we'll have to
pass that flags as well.

Seem pip comes bundled with some Python libs.

Thanks to Xuefer Tinys <xuefer@gmail.com> for reporting this.
Case is:
opkg install python-setuptools - works fine
opkg install python-pip - reports conflicts for
files easy_install.pth & site.py
So the solution is to add some preinst script that backs up those files
on 'opkg install python-pip' and moves them back on 'opkg remove python-pip'.

That would allow for files (in filespecs) to be indented.
As it is now, the files need to be added at the begginning of the line.

Seems that using += adds a space in the PYTHONPATH.
Could be some other error, but at least this way
it's sure to not leave any spaces.

- pdo-sqlite/sqlite3: libsqlite3 itself depends on libpthread,
not the extension

Ruby 2.1.5 has been released.
This release includes a security fix for a DoS vulnerability of REXML.
It is similar to the fixed vulnerability in the previous release, but
new and different from it.

Some symbols are not found (tgetnum and BC).
Looks like the termcap lib, which should be in libncurses(w)
but maybe some build param would be required.

This will reduce the bloat when users will want to compile in their
Python C extensions.
There will be a initial bloat (several kb) if just Python
is installed, but that will be compensated when users will add more
C extensions.
During the build we also have to add Python's PKG_BUILD_DIR
so that the shared lib is found when compiling Python's
built-in C extensions.

This fix is quite critical since it fixes copying the libpython shared lib.
The previous source folder we've used is ok, it has the shared lib,
but libpython2.7.so is not a symlink of libpython2.7.so.1.0, but
rather a copy of it.
Which means that libpython2.7.so takes twice as much space
on the target's flash.

(or at least trying to be) build using '/usr/include' as the first
include folder.
Seems this issue was already fixed on MacOS X and now we've extended
it for our case.

Python's build scripts prefer ncursesw, and if it is detected
it will be used.
The problem will occur when linking, since ncursesw libs may not be
installed if not added as deps, but the sources will be compiled
against ncursesw.

Type signedness is undefined for char. char may actually be unsigned for
some CPUs.
This fixes various bugs on PPC, like negative array indices.

According to PEP394 (http://legacy.python.org/dev/peps/pep-0394/)
the 'python' command should refer to 'python2'.
In our case, this means we should reboot the old python package.
We could rename the package name to python2, but that would
just complicate things a bit with other packages, and
since we're doing this reboot, such a complication would be
unnecessary.

ruby-core is problematic as it is too big.
It is impossible to fix pkgs dependencies as
ruby-core would generate multiple cycled dependencies
between packages.
Also, "core" in ruby context means "classes that does not need a 'require'".
This is not the case of ruby-core classes. They are, actually, a subset of
Ruby Standard Library.
In every detected case where a portion of ruby-core could be isolated and
save another pkgs from requiring all ruby-core where spin-off into a new
subset. Also, big portions of ruby-core, not require by current ruby-* pkgs
where spin-off in new pkgs. The remaining of ruby-core was put into a new ruby-misc.
ruby-stdlib was created as a meta package that requires all ruby packages that are
part of Ruby Standard Library. For a full Ruby Standard Library, just install
ruby-stdlib and its deps.

Ruby encoding library was too big and bring unecessary encodings for a simple ruby usage.
All not directly required encodings from stdlib where moved to ruby-enc-extra.

ruby_find_pkgsdeps: look for file dependencies (checks
require and Encoding references) and extrapolate it to pkgs
deps. Also checks whether a dep is redundant or missing in pkgs.
Must run inside an OpenWRT with all ruby* pkgs installed.
ruby_missingfiles: list files in staging/target and from files
comparing side by side its contents. It helps to easly visualize
which file is not packaged in an ipk.

Digest can use OpenSSL or ruby internal implementation of hash functions. The first
uses less disk space but requires openssl, that is relatively big. As internal hash
implementations are not too much bigger than openssl version, it is compiled by
default. A new config option can change it to use OpenSSL instead.
As digest is independent from openssl, ruby-digest was created as a new pkgs.

Some ruby gems where still in ruby-core pkg. These files where
moved outside ruby-core into ruby-gems or their own subpkg.
ruby-unit renamed to ruby-testunit as its gem is named test-unit.
ruby-rdoc left a file in ruby-core.
Psych is a gem and deserves its own subpkg. It replaces syck
(used by yaml) on recent ruby version (ref:
https://bugs.ruby-lang.org/projects/ruby-trunk/repository/revisions/36786)
Also, some psych files where packed incorrecly into ruby-json. The asterisk
in */json was intend to match <arch>/json/ and not psych/json.
Files where derived
from ruby-core and a lost file in ruby-json.

ext/digest/rmd160 was referencing a function that never existed in openssl.
The name was simply mistyped. Now it can use openssl.
openssl was always linked to ext/digest when library is avaiable,
even when it was disable by configure option and not used by code.

rdoc seems to be written to run without gem. However,
some internal code still does not check for gems presence.
With a small patch, rdoc can run without gems.

ruby, by default, try to load gems on start. If not
present, it fails. As gems brings many deps, this make ruby
unsuitable for routers limited resources.
ruby can avoid to load gems with the option "--disable-gems".
So, a wrap script in the place of /usr/bin/ruby adds this option
if gems are not found.

Docs are not currently packaged. So, there is no need to install
them. Also, doxygen have some problem with the usaged of git in
build_dir as it takes ages running git commands on every file.
Disabling the docs reduces the compilation time.

ruby-ncurses where removed from ruby upstream (ruby commit
9c5b2fd8aa0fd343ad094d47a638cfd3f6ae0a81) and become solely
a gem now. OpenWRT subpackage removed.

- Python 3 (at least version 3.4) is pretty cross-compiler-friendly,
so a lot of patches were thrown away.
- Arguments below were moved to ./files/config.site file, and disabled
ac_cv_have_chflags=no \
ac_cv_have_lchflags=no \
ac_cv_py_format_size_t=no \
ac_cv_have_long_long_format=yes \
ac_cv_buggy_getaddrinfo=no \
- --without-ensurepip added, because the build wants to ensure that
it works; that's a good idea, but for now, it requires special
setup, and we can do that later
- --without-pymalloc added, becase in Python 3, modules are suffixed
with m; e.g. so some paths are python3.4m instead of python3.4

Make python-mini the top-level and default Python package.
Make the other packages subpackages of the top-level python package.
Make old python package the python-full package.
Note: at this point, this package can be split/renamed to
python-legacy should anyone need Python 2. After this commit
it's going to be Python 3 all the way.

libgmp.so is needed for miniruby, that is compiled in host.
Using PKG_BUILD_DEPENDS=gmp/host eventually compiled gmp/host
before ruby/host. However, when this did not happened, build
failed. Using HOST_BUILD_DEPENDS=gmp/host seems to be the
correct way to require it.

This commit imports the old Makefile from old openwrt feeds.
Also, the package was updated to the latest version.
The new version was tested in a VM with no aparent problem.
No patches are needed.

Before, external modules actually used host-perl headers.
Aside from obviously being the wrong thing to do, it made them misbehave if
host and target architectures differ too much.

correct CFLAGS, not with the one host-perl is using.

-g3 will make the build fail in Compress-Raw-Zlib with
ld: final link failed: Memory exhausted
This bug is actually documented[1] and fixed by filtering that flag. Since
we're passing CFLAGS manually, we need to do the same to make things work.
I suspect that this is actually a linker or library bug, but for now let's
just replicate the official fix.
